Mom's Boozy Slushie

Flashback to the 70’s and Mom’s Boozy Slushie recipe in honor of her milestone birthday!

I remember there always being an ice cream pail of this mystery mixture, labeled “grown-ups only” in our freezer, all summer long. Finally, once I graduated to the grown-up category, I was able to sample the cocktail that became a family favorite. When I look at this faded photo of Mom with my little brother and I, it takes me back to those lazy days of summer and simpler times.

Cheers, Mom, to 75 years on the fun wheel of life and many more to come!

Here’s the versatile recipe, which was passed down by my grandmother to my mom, years ago. Some things never go out of style. Enjoy it with your favorite spirit of choice and bring back those bell bottoms!
