Unplug & Unwind

Christmas celebrations may be over for most people, but I’m still basking in the holiday afterglow.

I’ve been off the grid, unplugging and unwinding, making the most of every minute with my college freshman still home on holiday break. The lights are still twinkling at our house and we have a few surprises yet to unwrap. The twelve days of Christmas don’t officially end until January 6th in my faith, when we celebrate the Feast of Epiphany, which marks the end of the twelve days Christians believe it took for the wise men to travel to Bethlehem , after the birth of Jesus. Celebrations and dates for Epiphany vary, depending on cultural beliefs and traditions. For many European countries, there will be parades and a cake of kings, to honor the Three Wise Men, who presented their gifts to baby Jesus on Epiphany. I see each day of Christmas as a gift, and look forward to the year ahead.

I have been contemplating my goals for 2022. Reflecting on resolutions that stick takes time. I’m not in any rush. In fact, I’m relishing this wintry weather which is perfect for journaling by the fire. We have all year to make things happen. I’ve got several ideas up my sleeve for Zabelicious Life. Stay tuned to find out what’s next. Until then, I invite you to savor every last moment of the holiday spirit while you can.

Journal It!

Find a quiet corner to escape. Grab a cup of tea, pen and paper. Let your mind wander. Daydream. Unplug, unwind and “Journal It!”

  • What are your hopes and dreams for 2022?

  • How can you transform your life to make one or more of those dreams a reality?
