Write a Love Letter to Yourself
“Listen to the true, wise, knowing statements of your heart.”
Following your heart and having self confidence are easier said than done. Have you ever considered giving yourself a pep talk by writing a letter? It might sound silly, but the act of writing a love letter to yourself can be empowering. So often, we are busy comparing ourselves to others, we forget about our own unique gifts and talents. The world would be pretty boring if everyone was the same. Try looking inward, recognize and celebrate your individuality. In honor of Mental Health Month, I invite you to join me for a writing exercise to guide you on the path to self love and discovery.
What are 10 things you love about your authentic self?
Open your journal, or find a piece of paper.
Draw or paste a heart here and fill it with those compliments about yourself.
Use those words to write a love letter to yourself.
Include your hopes and dreams for the future in the letter.
Fill the letter with joy, kindness and words you live by.
Consider adding color, or sparkles.
Keep the letter handy and read it often.
Watch your confidence soar, as you blaze your own trail and fulfill those dreams. Don’t expect it to happen overnight. Good things take time. Be patient. Let your light shine as you embrace self love.
“Love your extraordinary self and let nothing dim your light that shines from within.”
