Carnival Kid Party

Get your ticket to the greatest show on earth! Everyone loves a carnival! It’s the perfect theme for a birthday party at any age. We chose to get the whole family involved as carnival game hosts for Julia’s 5th birthday. When the weather took a turn for the worse, we had to improvise and move the entire carnival, including the bouncy house inside the garage. No one seemed to mind a bit. Some guests said it was the best carnival ever. Although for most five year olds, it was probably the first one they remember attending. Here’s a list of the attractions we recommend to make your carnival party a hit.

  • Purchase a roll of paper carnival admission tickets for multiple use: invitations, decoration and admission to carnival booths.

  • Carnival booths set the stage and serve as decoration

  • Kiddie lemonade stand as ticket booth

Food

  • Hot Dogs

  • Snow Cones/Ice Cream Treats

Gumdrop Carnival Cake

Frost a nine-inch cake and cupcakes for party guests, decorate with assorted gumdrops, gummies, licorice or sprinkles to create your masterpiece. Julia opted for butterflies and a frog on her cake, rather than traditional circus animals. The birthday girl is boss, after all!

Activities

  • Archery with foam darts.

  • Bouncy House-Wear them out!

  • Face Painting-Hire a neighbor kid to do it on a budget.

  • Fish Pond-Old school carnival game where everyone is a winner!

  • Guessing Game-Fill a jar with anything and have party guests guess how many. Closest wins!
